Dear Black Belts and Black Belt eligible students,

Congratulations on getting so close to becoming a Black Belt. Next few weeks of training will give you an experience of a life time. You will put your self to the test to become a certified and recognized as Black Belt through out the world.
 
 
This Saturday will be a special class. It will include the following: Class taught by Master Stephen Sealy to review the curriculum. Breaking techniques taught by Master Tommy Chang including power breaks. It will be a special 3 hour training to finalize for the Black Belt testing along with next week's demonstration at Christie Park at the Korean Festival.

Please note the following.

• Please bring your sparring gear for the Black Belt testing on June 14. It will be required for you to spar with one student along with two black belts at the same time.
• Group Photo Session on June 7 at 1 pm so please be here on time. The picture will be taken at Christie Park.
• Demonstration will be at 3 pm on June 7 at Christie Park.

The Black Belt  time of the testing will be as follows,

The school will be closed on June 14. You will be permitted to bring 2 people to witness your test. It is a closed testing.

CHILDREN: 10 AM to 2 PM.       
 
ADULTS 3 PM to 8 PM
 
Please note that during the board breaks. All the boards will be held by the Instructors or black belts that are not testing.

Wanted - volunteers for demos
Sat. June 21st, for Bloor Street Festival.

We will be running a booth, and doing demonstrations at 1:00pm 3:00pm 5:00pm 6:30pm 8:00pm  
 
We would love to have our students of all ages and belt rankings come out and support us, and join in on the festivities!  You don't have to stay the entire day.  Just a few hours from each student would be a tremendous support. 

Please let staff know when you can volunteer, so we can make a schedule.  
Again, this is not only a great opportunity to support your school, but also to support our community, and city!

This is an excellent chance for everyone to share the positive benefits of our training with your friends and family.

Bring a covered dish. Wow us with your singing, dancing, musical, joke-telling or any other talent you may have.
Sign up at sheets for the Talent Contest, A& B Honor Roll Recognition Award, potluck are at the school.

Talent Contest Prizes
• 1st Place - $50 TKD Money • 2nd Place - $30 TKD Money • 3rd Place - $20 TKD Money
       All Participants - $5 TKD Money

A& B Honor Roll Recognition Award for High School and Under.
Your Child will Receive a TKD Gold Medal for Doing an Awesome Job in School.    
Note:  Copy of School Report Card Required for a Verification.

Children's Movie Night Schedule
MUST SIGN UP BY NOV 9!
$10 before NOV 9th $15 at door!
(Must be at least 4 years and older.)

When : Saturday November 10th at 4 PM sharp
Where : Black Belt World 885 Bloor Street West
Why: To create a stronger community with BBW and to give parents a night off.
Who: All BBW students friends and parents if they would like to join us.
What to bring: Sleeping bag, pillow, comfortable clothing along with your training uniform (dobok)

1st prize for an adult is a samurai sword
1st prize for a child is a fleece top or track suit
3rd prize is tkd hat.

As of January 8, 2007, there is a new uniform code in effect at Black Belt World:

Red uniforms - Master Instructor
Blue uniforms - Instructor
Black uniforms- Assistant Instructors.

Please congratulate the new instructors and be respectful of the new code. Instructors will only be wearing their uniforms when teaching, and are required to don their white uniforms when training with a class.
